The requirements for the extradition of pro-Biafran agitator, Simon Ekpa, to Nigeria have been sent to the Finnish Government, according to Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.

In an interview on Channels Television’s 2024 Year-In-Review programme on December 31, Musa stated that Ekpa was “cooling off somewhere” and confirmed that legal action would follow.

He added that the Nigerian government had forwarded most of the necessary documentation to Finland for Ekpa’s extradition.

Ekpa, arrested in Finland in November 2024 along with four others, is suspected of terror-related activities, including incitement to violence and terrorism financing. He faces charges for using social media to promote separatist propaganda linked to IPOB, a group pushing for the secession of southeastern Nigeria.

Musa also noted that the sit-at-home protests led by Ekpa and his allies in the South-East were losing momentum due to military operations.
