Nigerian Air Force warns public against fake recruitment advert

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has discredited a recruitment advertisement circulating on social media platforms, declaring it to be fraudulent and a scheme to deceive potential applicants.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, released a statement on Monday in Abuja stating that the NAF is not currently conducting any recruitment exercises. He warned applicants not to be deceived by these fraudsters.

Gabkwet clarified that the advertisement did not originate from the NAF and reminded the public that the service recently concluded the graduation of recruits from Basic Military Training Course 43/2022 on July 8.

The statement further assured that the public will be duly informed whenever the NAF decides to initiate a recruitment process. In the meantime, individuals are cautioned to be cautious and avoid falling victim to any false recruitment claims.

The public is once again reminded that the recruitment and selection process into the NAF is free and without any form of gratification. Anyone who pays money under any guise does so at his or her own risk.

Furthermore, the NAF recruitment process is devoid of recruitment agents, hence, anyone who claims to be operating in such capacity on behalf of the NAF is a fraudster.

“The NAF wishes to advise prospective applicants to promptly report anyone who solicits payments to the nearest NAF Unit or the Nigeria Police Force,” he said.
