The Nigerian Army Resource Centre has honoured 30 officers elevated from Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel, along with two others advanced from Colonel to Brigadier General, during an event held at the TY Burutai Building.

A statement shared Wednesday on the Nigerian Army’s X account by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, NARC Abuja, Major Augustine Bello, noted that the ceremony—witnessed by senior officers, invited guests, friends, and family members—was overseen by the Director-General of NARC, Maj Gen J.G.K. Myam.

The decorated officers are participants in the Leadership and Strategic Course 4/2025.

The Special Guest of Honour, former Commander of the Nigerian Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Minna, Maj Gen Olabanji (retd), praised the officers, describing their elevation as a “well-deserved milestone”.

He encouraged them to stay committed, guide their subordinates, and demonstrate exemplary leadership.

Maj Gen Myam (retd) likewise commended the newly promoted officers, extending appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Waidi Shaibu, as well as their families and friends for their encouragement.

Speaking for the group, Brigadier General Yakubu Ibrahim expressed gratitude to God, the Chief of Army Staff, and Maj Gen Myam, vowing to intensify their efforts and uphold the confidence placed in them.

He further remarked that “promotion is a transformation in our career in the Army,” adding, “We will double our efforts, never to relent or rest on our oars, we will justify the confidence reposed in us.”

He also acknowledged the crucial contributions of their families, whose support has shaped their professional journey.

Other notable attendees included Maj Gen W.M. Dangana, Maj Gen I.B. Maina, and Maj Gen M.O. Erebulu, among others. The ceremony highlighted the officers’ commitment, discipline, and outstanding service.
