The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced an immediate adjustment to its service fees following a comprehensive review aimed at aligning charges with present-day operational costs.

This revision, revealed in a statement by Kayode Adegoke, Head of the NIMC’s Corporate Communications Unit, on Thursday, marks the first change in over a decade.

Although specific figures for the previous and new charges were not provided, the commission stated that the revised fees would be published on its official website on Friday.

According to the statement, “After a decade of maintaining the same pricing structure, NIMC has conducted a comprehensive review to ensure alignment with current operational costs and industry standards.”

It continued, “The revised pricing structure aims to uphold the quality and integrity of NIMC’s services while ensuring affordability and accessibility for Nigerians. The new charges take immediate effect.”

The commission also issued a firm warning to all front-end partners to strictly adhere to the new fee schedule. Any partner found charging above the approved rates will face serious penalties, including possible licence revocation.

Members of the public are encouraged to report any pricing violations to NIMC’s Inspectorate and Enforcement Unit via email at [email protected] or by calling 0815 501 5388.

The updated pricing structure is now accessible on NIMC’s official website, www.nimc.gov.ng, promoting transparency and accountability.

Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NIMC, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, extended gratitude to Nigerians, partner agencies, and the staff of NIMC. She offered special thanks to President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and other stakeholders for their continued support in strengthening Nigeria’s identity infrastructure.
