The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has issued a disclaimer notifying the public that it had not initiated any recruitment exercise.
This comes as an online recruitment site claimed that NiMet was conducting recruitment through its platform.
NiMet’s General Manager of Public Relations, Muntari Ibrahim, recently said in a statement that recruitment by the agency would only be conducted via the right channels and the public would be informed of any such exercise through the agency’s social media platforms.
Moreover, the agency advised the public, particularly those seeking employment opportunities, to be wary of scammers and not to fall victim to their ploys.
The statement reads,” Our attention has been drawn to an online recruitment site that published an ongoing recruitment exercise credited to Nigerian Meteorological Agency.
“The Management is using this medium to issue a disclaimer and to inform the public that NiMet has not embarked on any recruitment exercise.
“If or when such an exercise will be carried out, it will be done through the right channel and the public will be duly informed through our social media handles. NiMet is also using this medium to advise unsuspecting jobseekers and indeed public to be wary and not fall prey to scammers. If in doubt they can contact our office for clarification,” it added.
