The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has suspended its National Secretary, Mr. Oladipupo Olayokun, from the ward level.

Olayokun was unanimously suspended by its ward executives for alleged involvement in anti-party activities and dereliction of duty.

A letter by the party’s Chairman at Ward 5 in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Segun Adesegun, said all the ward executives accused Olayokun of “total neglect of NNPP at the ward level to the extent of never participating in party activities, including his refusal to vote for either the governorship candidate or presidential candidate of the NNPP in the last general election”.

The letter was addressed to Olayokun and the founder of the party, with Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, and copied to Dr. Boniface Aniebona.

The party also alleged that the secretary was behind the party’s crisis in Ogun State.

“Recognising the fact that Mr. Oladipupo Olayokun committed various offences in contravention to the Constitution of the party’s Article 39.2 subsection 1, 2, 4 , 5 6, 7 and 11 of NNPP 2022 Constitution, as amended, is hereby suspended as a member of this party at the ward level from today, August 6, 2023.

“Consequently, he should stop parading himself as the National Secretary of the party henceforth,” the letter said.
