‘No gree for anybody’ slogan can plunge Nigeria into crisis, police warn

The Nigerian Police Force strongly condemns the widespread use of the popular slang, ‘no go gree for anybody,’ by youths and citizens nationwide.

According to reports, the widely popular phrase ‘No Gree for Anybody’ has garnered significant attention, with many interpreting it as a commitment to staying true to one’s beliefs and resisting external influence.

However, the police, represented by spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, issued a warning indicating possible action against those using the phrase.

During a Wednesday press briefing, Adejobi disclosed that the police had received intelligence suggesting that the slogan had the potential to incite a revolution within the country.

He said, “Let me say that the new slogan for 2023, 2024 for our young ones is ‘no go gree for anybody.’

“We have been informed from our intelligence that this slogan is coming from a revolutionary sector that may likely cause problem across the country.

“‘No go gree for anybody’ is being seen as just a normal talk, but in security business, in the security community, we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger crisis.”

Reports state that the widespread circulation of numerous memes and posts on social media showcasing the ‘No Gree for Anybody’ slang.

One meme illustrates a tricycle being overtaken by a larger vehicle, symbolizing a lack of respect for the right of way.

The slang has already been incorporated into a logo and has been imprinted on clothing and various items.
