Nollywood actor Bamidele ‘Okemesi’ Oluwatope is dead

The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran Nollywood actor, Bamidele Oluwatope Saint, popularly known as Okemesi.

The comic actor reportedly passed away on Tuesday after battling health complications. Colleagues disclosed that he had fallen into a coma following issues linked to medication administered during a recent hospital stay. He was later pronounced dead, leaving family, friends, and fans in shock.

Okemesi was widely loved for his comic timing, energetic performances, and unique delivery in Yoruba-language films. Over the years, he carved a niche for himself in Nollywood, becoming a familiar face in several productions and online skits. His ability to effortlessly interpret humorous roles earned him admiration within and beyond the Yoruba movie industry.

Tributes have begun pouring in from fellow actors, filmmakers, and fans across social media, many describing him as humble, dedicated, and passionate about his craft. Some colleagues also recalled his resilience during his health struggles and his unwavering commitment to entertaining his audience.
