Nollywood actor Dejumo Lewis has passed away at the age of 80.
Actor Saidi Balogun confirmed the passing of the veteran in a post shared on his Instagram account on Saturday.
Alongside a photo of the late actor, Saidi wrote, “Good night DEJUMO LEWIS, may your soul rest in perfect peace. RIP.”
While the specific details surrounding Lewis’ passing remain undisclosed, Balogun’s tribute has prompted an outpouring of condolences from fans and fellow actors and actresses.
Lewis was a renowned Nigerian film and television actor, notably recognized for his role as Kabiyesi in “The Village Headmaster,” Nigeria’s longest-running television soap opera broadcast on NTA from 1968 to 1988, featuring Justus Esiri, Femi Robinson, and many others.
He is also celebrated for his impactful performances in acclaimed films such as “A Place in the Stars” (2014), “Crossroads” (2020), and “Power of 1” (2018).
