The chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa has warned that time is running out for notorious bandit leader Bello Turji and other terrorists, as troops intensify their efforts to eliminate insecurity in Zamfara and the North West Zone.
General Musa made this statement during a courtesy visit to Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal.
He also reported the recent success of the troops, highlighting the killing of Kachalla Halilu Sububu, a bandit leader active in Western Zamfara.
Sububu was killed in Kwaren Kirya, a community within Maru Local Government Area.
General Musa announced the establishment of a joint military operation, codenamed ‘Operation Fansar Yamma Northwest,’ to address the spread of insecurity in the region.
He also mentioned that additional helicopters and other equipment will be deployed to support this effort.
