At least eight ships have docked at the Lekki, Tin-Can Island and Apapa ports in Lagos and are awaiting clearance to discharge consignments such as bulk urea, sugar, gypsum, base oil and empty containers.
This was disclosed in the Nigerian Ports Authority’s latest Shipping Position report made available to journalists in Lagos on Tuesday.
The report also noted that 28 more vessels laden with petroleum products, food items and other cargoes are expected to arrive at the Apapa, Lekki and Tin-Can Island ports between January 27 and February 6.
The NPA disclosed that the expected arrivals will be transporting items such as bulk wheat and gypsum, fresh fish, petrol, bulk gas, crude oil, as well as containerised goods.
Meanwhile, 22 other vessels are presently at the ports, actively discharging various consignments.
These include containers, crude oil, alkaline substances, base oil, bulk clinker, bulk wheat, bulk gypsum, bulk urea and empty containers.
