National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu has confirmed the arrest of two leaders of the Ansaru terrorist group.
Speaking at a security briefing at the Office of the National Security Adviser, Ribadu named the suspects as Abu Baraa, the Amir, and Mahmuda, the deputy Amir.
He said the pair orchestrated several terrorist attacks in Nigeria and were behind a number of high-profile kidnappings.
The Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation also attended the briefing.
