NSCDC arrests suspected vandals, vehicle, phone thieves in Kano

Eight suspects have been detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kano State for perpetrating crimes around the state, including vandalism, car theft, and phone snatching.

Muhammad Falala, the command’s commandant, said this when briefing reporters on Thursday night at the command’s headquarters.

Falala claimed that the accused, Ibrahim Sani, 25, Salahu Abubakar Ale, 25, and Jafar Sani, 20, were all apprehended while tampering with an armoured 7mms cable in Sabon Gari, Fagge LGA.

He said that Yusuf Ibrahim, 18, Sharhabilu Rabiu Abubakar, 19, and Bara’u Auwal, 19, were the other suspects who had been detained for phone theft in the Dorayi/Chiranchi Gwale Local Government Area.

Aminu Adamu, 32, of Unguwar Dosa Kaduna, state, who specializes in car theft and documents forgery was arrested at Gandun Albasa Kano Municipal while attempting to steal a Toyota Corolla.

“Exhibits recovered from him include a bunch of keys containing 13 Toyota keys, a fake plate number, and a fake/car particulars,” the commandant said.

He said all the suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution as soon as the investigation was concluded.
