The Anambra State Command of Nigeria’s Security and Civil Defence Corps has reunited 13-year-old Goodluck Onwe with his family after he went missing in Ebonyi State.

The teenager was reported to have been seen wandering the streets of Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, before being rescued by the NSCDC on February 4, 2024, at around 1 p.m.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Anambra State Public Relations Officer of the agency, Okadigbo Edwin, on Friday.

Edwin said an investigation revealed that the said boy lived with a relative in Abakaliki but ran away from home with the intent to return to his parents in Aguleri, Anambra State.

He said, “Subsequently, the NSCDC, Anambra State Command, was contacted by the Ebonyi State Command to trace the origin and parents of the child.

“In response, the command made a frantic effort to locate his parents for identification and collection. After a detailed verification process, the boy has been handed over to Onwe Sabastine, his father.”
