The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has cautioned camp officials against engaging in unethical behavior and excessive socialization with members of the scheme.

Addressing the personnel ahead of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Orientation exercise on Thursday in Katsina, Hajiya Aisha Mohammed, the coordinator of the scheme in Katsina State, emphasized the importance of maintaining ethical conduct and avoiding excessive socialization with corps members.

The three-week orientation course is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 6.

Mohammed urged the officials to serve as role models for the young participants by demonstrating discipline throughout the exercise. She instructed them to give their best effort and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations governing the orientation course.

Additionally, she highlighted the significance of extending a warm welcome to the prospective corps members upon their arrival at the camp.

Mohammed highlighted that the pre-camp meeting with all collaborating agencies provided an opportunity to thoroughly assess the camp and devise strategies for ensuring a smooth orientation exercise without any issues.

Furthermore, the coordinator emphasized the importance of security personnel working together cohesively to prevent any untoward incidents during the exercise.

“Working in synergy will make the corps members borrow a leaf from them and participate actively in all camp activities,” she said.

The camp director, Mr. Allen Charles-Chisom, appealed to the personnel for their cooperation to ensure a smooth and trouble-free exercise.

Similarly, the Camp Commandant, Capt. AS Musa, emphasized the importance of teamwork in achieving the successful execution of the exercise.

He restated the security agencies’ pledges to keep the camp safe throughout the drill.
