Mudashiru Obasa, who represents Agege State Constituency 1, was re-elected as speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly for the third time in a row.
Following Tuesday’s announcement and the subsequent inauguration of the 10th Assembly by the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Obasa emerged.
Obasa was elected unanimously by the 40 members after being nominated by Adewale Temitope Adedeji (Ifako Ijaiye) and seconded by Sylvester Ogunkelu (Epe 2).
Meanwhile, Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, who represents Apapa 1, was elected deputy speaker of the 10th Lagos State House of Assembly.
Her election equally followed a unanimous decision by the 40 members after Olusola Desmond Elliot (Surulere 1) nominated her to assume the position.
