Delta State Governor and APC coordinator in the state, Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged party leaders and members in Delta to mobilise strongly and deliver substantial votes for President Bola Tinubu in the party’s presidential primary scheduled for Saturday.

He made the call on Friday during a visit to APC founding leader in the state, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, at his home in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Oborevwori expressed confidence in the strength of the APC structure in Delta, saying it was well-positioned to produce significant votes for the President.

“We know our strength as a party in Delta State. We have over 470,000 members and we expect massive turnout. We are determined to deliver strong numbers because this exercise is important for the unity and future of our party,” he said.

He further stated that the party was targeting about 390,000 affirmation votes for President Tinubu, noting that grassroots mobilisation across the state remained active and strong.

The governor also pointed to his own emergence as the party’s governorship candidate as evidence of the APC’s organisational strength in Delta State.

“You affirmed me as sole governorship candidate with over 345,000 votes. This one is for Mr. President and he deserves more because he is the leader of the party,” he said.

Oborevwori called for unity, discipline, and respect for party leadership, warning that internal divisions could weaken the party’s overall performance.

“A political party without discipline, without respect for leadership and without regard for authority cannot move forward. Leadership must be respected because that is what provides direction and stability for any organisation,” he stated.

In his response, Emerhor commended the governor’s leadership style and his efforts to strengthen the APC in Delta State.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is one governor who respects elders so much. We have fought for this party for years and we thank God for his coming to provide leadership and direction,” he said.

He added that success in politics depends on consultation, inclusion, and adherence to party structures, stressing that collaboration with stakeholders is essential.

“A leader provides direction. Political activities cannot succeed without consultation and respect for established structures. Leadership matters because it brings organisation and stability,” he said.

Emerhor assured that APC stakeholders in Delta would work together to ensure strong support for President Tinubu in the forthcoming exercise.
