Ogun Assembly confirms nine out of Abiodun’s 10 commissioner-nominees

The Ogun House of Assembly has approved the nomination of nine commissioner-nominees out of the ten candidates it recently screened.

According to reports, the name of the 10th nominee, Mr. Tunde Oshunbiyi, had been withdrawn by Gov. Dapo Abiodun.

Reports additionally state that the endorsement followed the acceptance of the Committee of the Whole House’s report, led by Speaker Olakunle Oluomo and presented by Deputy Speaker Bolanle Ajayi.

Ajayi proposed the motion to accept the report during the session in Abeokuta, which received a seconder from Lukmon Atobatele.

Subsequently, the confirmation of the nominees took place after the Majority Leader, Yusuf Sheriff, introduced the motion, seconded by the Minority Leader, Lukman Adeleye.

According to the report, “the committee found the nominees eligible and suitable to assume the exalted office of commissioners in Ogun State.”

It has been reported that on August 4, the assembly confirmed eight commissioner-nominees.
