The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Alhaja Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has pledged the robust support of the State for the forthcoming maiden Nigeria Public Relations Week scheduled to hold in Abeokuta from Monday, April 22 to Friday, April 26, 2024.
She described the decision of NIPR to have the week in Ogun State as a very welcome news which is in sync with the state renowned pedigree for being first in all walks of life.
She said the Prince Dapo Abiodun led government had repositioned Ogun State as the Investment destination of choice open for people to live, work and play with conducive infrastructure and security.
She advised NIPR to ensure chronicling the efforts of all iconic indigenes of Ogun State in its compilation of icons of the state adding ” I am eagerly looking forward to learning how the finances of the country can be enhanced with Reputation Management”.
Earlier, the Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Chief Yomi Badejo-Okusanya had solicited the support of the Deputy Governor as the Special Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony of the forthcoming week which will be declared open by the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.
He said over two thousand public relations practitioners from across Africa and the worldover are being expected at the Public Relations Week scheduled to hold at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta and asked for relevant supports towards making the event a resounding success.
He said Mentoring Session with tertiary institution students of Public Relations and Communication Studies will kick-start the Week on Monday to be closely followed by a session with the traditional rulers.
He said the Opening Ceremony will hold on Tuesday adding that Honourable Minister of Finance Chief Wale Edun and the CBN Governor, Mr. Yomi Cardoso are expected to deliver keynote papers on the theme “Finance and Reputation Management” while Breakout Sessions and Workshops will feature.
Adire couture on the runway will hold on Wednesday with the Annual General Meeting of NIPR, Tours and Dinner holding on Thursday of the Week.
Chief Yomi Badejo-Okusanya said NIPR is partnering hotels in and around Abeokuta to host delegates.
He charged members of the NIPR to register online to have a wonderful global experience during the Week.
The entourage of Chief Yomi Badejo-Okusanya which included the Ogun State Chairman of NIPR, Mrs Seun Boye and Fellow and Managing Director of PR Primus, Mr. Akin Okudero also paid advocacy visits to the State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Chief Oluwasesan Fagbayi and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Adesina.
