Ohinoyi: Kano Emir pays condolence visit to Gov. Bello

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi, On Sunday, welcomed the Emir of Kano, HRM Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, who paid a visit to offer his condolences following the passing of Dr. Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.

During his visit to the Government House in Lokoja, Bayero expressed his condolences to the governor, conveying that he came to the state to show his sympathy to Governor Bello and the people of Kogi following the passing of Dr. Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, on October 29.

The Emir extended sincere condolences on behalf of the Kano Emirates to the residents of Kogi and commended Bello for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with traditional leaders in the state.

Governor Bello expressed gratitude to the Emir and the Emirates Council for their heartfelt condolences and for making the considerable effort to offer their support.

The governor also praised the late Ohinoyi for his influential and exemplary life, which serves as a worthy example for everyone to follow.

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for deeming it fit to condole with us and for embarking on such a significant journey from Kano to Kogi State.”

“We truly value this expression of love. The late Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, lived an honorable life and left an indelible impact on the lives of his people during his time, ” he said.

Bello reiterated his administration’s steadfast commitment to the well-being of traditional leaders within the state. He assured that this commitment will be continued by his successor, with faith in the divine.

He underscored the harmonious relationship and collaboration between the government and traditional rulers in Kogi, with a shared focus on enhancing the welfare of the populace.

Bello expressed his contentment with the positive relationships that the late Ohinoyi had fostered with the Kano Emirates and traditional leaders throughout Nigeria.

Born on February 7, 1929, Ado Ibrahim was the fourth traditional leader and Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, known for his profound Islamic expertise.

He was an economist with global education, having obtained a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and master’s degrees from Harvard Business School in 1954 and 1959, respectively.

Ado Ibrahim passed away on October 29 at the age of 94.
