Ondo anti corruption commission receives 36 petitions in seven months — Official

The Chairman of The Ondo State Public Complaints, Financial Crimes, and Anti-Corruption Commission (SPFACC), Justice Williams Akintoroye  has announced that the commission has received 36 petitions in the past seven months.

Justice Akintoroye shared this information during an interview with journalists in Akure, the state capital.

He indicated that the petitions comprise both written and oral complaints, addressing cases involving government officials currently under investigation.

He emphasized that all complaints submitted to the commission are thoroughly examined, affirming the commission’s commitment to transparency and impartiality.

Justice Akintoroye reported that 75 percent of investigations have been completed, with certain cases ready to be sent to the Ministry of Justice for prosecution.

He also noted that all investigations are conducted meticulously, with criminal matters being carefully assessed in collaboration with similar agencies, including the Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency (OYACA) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The retired jurist called for additional resources, including expanded office space, more vehicles, and increased staffing, to improve the commission’s effectiveness.

He also revealed that the commission is in the process of launching an official website to enable petitioners to submit their complaints online.
