Ondo APC Primary: 171,922 accredited members to vote – committee

The committee to supervise the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Ondo State announced that 171,922 accredited members are set to cast their votes on Saturday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the primary is scheduled to take place in 203 wards spanning 18 local government areas, with 16 aspirants, including the incumbent governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, vying for candidacy.

Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, the secretary of the seven-member committee, disclosed this following its meeting with stakeholders and aspirants on Friday evening in Akure.

He emphasized that none of the aspirants had withdrawn or endorsed another candidate prior to the commencement of the exercise.

The secretary affirmed that the committee was fully prepared to oversee the primary through the direct mode in all 203 wards throughout the state.

He urged the aspirants to advise their followers to ensure the peaceful execution of the primary for the advancement of the party.

Omo-Agege guaranteed the committee’s commitment to adhere strictly to the party’s guidelines and constitution, ensuring a transparent, equitable, and credible election process.

He emphasized that the committee would work closely with the state’s security agencies to prevent any disruptions of law and order before, during, and after the primary.
