The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported one death and two injuries in multiple accidents on Ota-Idiroko road yesterday.

Mr. Anthony Uga, the Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, verified the incident’s details in Ota, Ogun.

He revealed that the event involving three vehicles and eight individuals occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m.

He explained that a blue mini truck, bearing the registration number BDG 340 XZ, and an unregistered truck collided with a stationary Iveco tipper labeled AAA 969 ZY while descending a slope from the Idiroko side of Arobieye, Iju bridge.

The FRSC chief added that this collision led to both vehicles plummeting into the Iju River, causing one fatality and leaving two others with injuries.

“The corpse of the victim had been deposited at Ifo General Hospital morgue while the survivors are receiving treatment at Ota General Hospital,” he said.

Uga said that the accident was caused by a mechanical fault and urged articulated truck drivers to make sure that their vehicles were in good condition before driving them on the highway.
