There are fears that one individual lost their life in a brawl that erupted among students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) at a nightclub in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, on Monday night.
The incident stemmed from a misunderstanding that escalated into a confrontation between two student groups at a popular establishment in the town.
The altercation occurred during a celebration for the institution’s convocation ceremony.
The club owner called the police to intervene when the altercation escalated, seeking to restore order. Unfortunately, according to eyewitnesses, the altercation turned violent, resulting in one person feared dead and several others sustaining injuries.
While the exact cause of the student’s death remains unclear, the deceased’s body has been taken to the Ogbomosho Police Area Command.
As of the time of this report, neither the police nor LAUTECH authorities have provided any comments on the matter.
