One killed in Lagos okada riders and hoodlums clash

On Monday, one person was killed when Okada riders and hoodlums clashed in the Baruwa-Gate neighborhood of Ipaja, Lagos State.

As of the time of submitting this report, the cause of the brawl had not been determined.

Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, verified the event to The PUNCH.

He stated that the alleged assailant had been apprehended, and that the reason of the incident was still being investigated.

The Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad issued an update, saying, “Our officers responded to the violent fights that broke out in Baruwa/Gate area of Ipaja this morning.

“Calm has been restored to the area. One person was confirmed dead.

“The killer and other suspects have been arrested while intensive patrols of the area is going on.

“Lagosians are urged to go about their lawful duties, especially in the axis as their safety and security is being made a top priority.”
