Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja 11, the Ooni of Ife, will lead other traditional rulers in the country to the 2nd UYOTA Royal Agric Investment and Youth Empowerment Tour in Thailand from November 4 to 14.
Princess Afoma Adigwe, founder of Uplifting Youths Through Agriculture (UYOTA), said the monarch’s participation was in accordance with engagement and collaboration with essential stakeholders and partners both at home and in the Diaspora.
She said the essence of the programme was for the UYOTA, an affiliate of Uplifting Women Through Farming (UWTF), to unveil its Royal Agriculture Investment Tour to Thailand.
Adigwe recently led a delegation of UYOTA to visit the Ife monarch in his palace, during which the Ooni expressed his willingness to accept the invitation to lead other traditional rulers and stakeholders in the agricultural sector to participate in the agric investment tour.The monarch said the project aligns with his involvement, contribution and investment in the agricultural sector as the most viable tool for long-lasting economic prosperity.
“Among others, the fastest growing Ojaja Pan African Fams Limited is one of my initiatives with which women and youths are wooed into participating in agriculture and I am proud to say that we have achieved a lot of success in this regard.”
Oba Ogunwusi explained also told the team that he is aware of Thailand’s prowess in agriculture and that the trip would go a long way in advancing agriculture in Nigeria.
Ooni also wished the entire UYOTA team an all-round success as they look forward to a rewarding trip to Thailand.
