Opposition taking advantage of protests for Political revenge – Gov Sani

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has accused opposition politicians of exploiting the #EndBadGovernance protests for “political revenge” due to their election losses.

Speaking on Channels Television’s The August Protests program on Friday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader alleged that opposition members are encouraging vulnerable individuals to join the demonstrations.

Sani urged them to wait for the next general elections to change the government through voting. He criticized some protest leaders for allowing children to lead the demonstrations instead of taking charge themselves.

Reflecting on his past as an activist during the military era, Sani mentioned that he personally led protests against military excesses and was detained at times. He also noted that some party members suggested organizing counter-protests, but he declined, respecting the right to protest—a right he exercised during the military regime.

The governor appealed to Nigerians to give President Bola Tinubu time to implement economic reforms.
