Osun APC Primary: ‘It will take another six months for me to talk’, Ex-Reps Deputy Speaker, Lasun Yusuf

A former House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Lasun Yusuf has declined to make any comment on the just-concluded primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.

Newsclickng.com reports that Yusuf came a distant third with a total vote of 460; a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Moshood Adeoti, scored 12,921, and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola polled 222,169 votes to become the party’s flag bearer in the July 16 governorship election.

“I’ve spoken last year and it will take another six months for me before I talk. Thank you!”, Lasun said when The Nation Newspaper sought his reactions on the just concluded governorship primary.

Meanwhile, the senator representing Osun West, Adelere Oriolowo, called for reconciliation of aggrieved party members.

Oriolowo congratulated Oyetola for his victory at the primary poll and admonished him to extend his hand of friendship to aggrieved members.

“I enjoin our dear governor to use his position as the Number One Citizen of the state to play his fatherly role by extending an olive branch and a hand of friendship to aggrieved members of our party, realising that intra-party crisis has never helped any party in the past.

“I also implore our party members, especially the aggrieved members, to see the reelection of our dear governor as a collective project,” he said.
