Bamidele Salam has secured the Accord Party’s ticket to contest again for the Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 elections.

The federal lawmaker emerged unopposed during the party’s primary election held in Ede, Osun State, on Friday.

Salam, who currently chairs the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee, was first elected in 2019 under the Peoples Democratic Party before moving to Accord alongside Governor Ademola Adeleke and other lawmakers amid the PDP crisis in Osun State.

Following his emergence, Salam assured constituents of continued efforts toward attracting development projects and improving security across the country through legislative action.

“It feels great, encouraging and challenging to have another term because whatever one is doing that people are applauding, one should be more determined and more focused to do more,” he said.

The lawmaker thanked residents of the constituency for their support and also appreciated Governor Adeleke for backing his ambition.

Speaking on his future plans, Salam promised not to disappoint the people if reelected, stressing that more work still needed to be done in the constituency.

“I won’t let them down. I regard this opportunity as a further challenge to do more,” he stated.

He also called for stronger collaboration between lawmakers and the executive arm to tackle insecurity, describing security as Nigeria’s biggest challenge.

“Most importantly, to work together with others to entrench a system that will guarantee greater peace and security in Nigeria,” Salam added.
