Osun partners World Bank on post COVID-19 recovery programme

Osun State Government has entered into a partnership with the World Bank to implement a programme aimed at mitigating the negative impact of COVID-19 on the people of Osun State.

The project christened “Osun CARES”, which focuses on health, water and education would be implemented by the Community and Social Development Agency in the state.

The General Manager of the Agency, Mrs Funmi Abokede said the state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola was passionate about the welfare of the people of the state and committed to their well-being which informed the decision to implement their project.

Abokede said this during a training programme for community champions and other stakeholders in the state on the nitty-gritty of the project.

She lauded Governor Oyetola for his desire to alleviate the suffering of the people and make life better for them.

According to her, “COVID-19 had negative impacts on the people, particularly on their health and economy. The state government of Osun is very sensitive about the plight of the people. That’s why there is an intervention called Osun CARES which is being co-funded by the Osun State Government and World Bank.
