The Osun State Police Command paraded Olatunji Damilola, a 22-year-old accused thug leader, in Osogbo on Wednesday after he was allegedly nabbed with eight weapons and 33 live cartridges.

The suspect, popularly called “Damoshe”, and his team allegedly caused the breach of peace during a clash where one person was killed on May 18, in the Balogun Agoro area of Osogbo.

Yemisi Opalola, the state police public relations officer, stated that the suspect was detained for unauthorised possession of firearms and armed robbery.

Opalola said, “Upon interrogation, the suspect took the police team to their armory, where four pump action guns, three cut-to-size barrel guns, one locally made pistol, one jack knife, ten cutlasses, and thirty three live cartridges of ammunition were recovered.

“Meanwhile, efforts are on to apprehend other suspect(s) in connection with the case, as the suspect will be charged to court after the investigation,” Opalola said.

She said the Commissioner of Police, Umar Abba, enjoined members of the public to always give information to the police to rip the state off crime.
