Osun Poll: Tribunal begins hearing Oyetola’s petition Oct 26

The Election Petition Tribunal, which is hearing the petition of Adegboyega Oyetola, the All Progressives Congress candidate in the July 16 Osun State governorship election, against the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Ademola Adeleke, has stated that it will sit for six hours daily.

The panel stated that its meetings would begin at 10 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and that they would end at 1 p.m. on Fridays.

The tribunal chairman, Justice Tertsea Kume, stated that the panel might sit on Saturdays or public holidays if necessary while delivering the panel’s pre-hearing report on Monday.

Kume also said all documentary evidence pleaded by the parties would be taken from the bar and objections to them would be deferred to the final address stage.

He stated that the time that the parties agreed on for examination in chief and cross-examination of the witnesses would be adhered to.

He then adjourned the matter till October 26 for the commencement of hearing.
