Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed confidence that the ongoing governorship election will be peaceful and that he will emerge victorious.
Adeleke made the remarks shortly after casting his vote at Sagba Agbogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area.
The governor arrived at the polling unit at about 8:32 a.m., accompanied by a large number of supporters. He was accredited by the Presiding Officer around 8:35 a.m. before casting his ballot.
Speaking after voting, Adeleke said he was confident of winning the election and urged residents across the state to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise and safeguard their votes until the conclusion of the electoral process.
According to him, the election offers the people of Osun an opportunity to decide who will govern the state for the next four years.
The governor also called on voters to remain peaceful and law-abiding throughout voting and the collation of results.
He urged voters to stay at their respective polling units and monitor the process in line with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Adeleke further expressed optimism that the election would be peaceful, credible and reflective of the wishes of the people.
