The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the recovery of over ₦248 billion within the past year.
Wilson Uwajaren, the commission’s Director of Public Affairs, shared this update on Thursday, highlighting the agency’s recent accomplishments.
Additionally, he reported the recovery of over £53,000 and €172,000, along with €5,000 returned to victims of crime in Spain.
Uwajaren noted that the commission is intensifying its rapid response efforts, which are expected to reduce cybercrime rates.
The EFCC also secured over 35 convictions related to Naira abuse at social events. Furthermore, Uwajaren revealed plans to establish three new directorates in Ekiti, Katsina, and Anambra states.
