Residents of Ibadan North Federal Constituency have been urged to enrol in a free health insurance programme sponsored by their representative, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), in collaboration with the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency.

The initiative is designed to expand access to affordable healthcare by registering residents into the state’s health insurance scheme at no cost, offering beneficiaries one year of medical coverage.

According to Akinwale Bodija, the lawmaker’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, the programme is focused on enhancing the wellbeing of residents, particularly those unable to afford adequate healthcare services.

“This health insurance scheme is not political in any way. It is strictly a humanitarian intervention aimed at supporting those who genuinely need access to healthcare,” he said.

He noted that priority would be given to vulnerable individuals during the registration process.

Bodija explained that the scheme provides extensive coverage for a year, including hospital consultations, routine examinations, medications, and essential surgeries.

“Beneficiaries will receive comprehensive healthcare services without any financial burden,” he said.

He added that registration is already underway, with officials on ground to assist residents and ensure a seamless process.

“The enrollment process is ongoing, and we have provided contacts to guide residents so they can register without stress,” he added.
