A politician from Ibadan and a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Yekini Adeojo, passed away.
He passed away early on Friday in the capital of Oyo State, Ibadan, at his home in the Iyaganku Government Reserved Area.
Adeojo was the esteemed Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland and the former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the PDP. He was a well-known chieftain in Ibadan as well.
He was the father of Sheriff Adeojo, who is currently the Executive Chairman of the state’s Ido Local Government Area.
In 1999, the PDP chieftain ran for governor on the party’s platform.
The specifics of his death were still unclear as of Friday, when this article was published.
A family source told The PUNCH that, “Our father died this morning (Friday). We are working on burial arrangements. The family will issue a statement in that regard very soon.”
