Pastor Odukoya taunts South Africa following loss to Super Eagles

The senior pastor of Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, has mocked Bafana Bafana of South Africa after the Super Eagles defeated them on penalties to reach African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023

Previously, Odukoya posted a video on his X account in which he offered prayers for the Super Eagles before their match against Bafana Bafana. He specifically prayed for Stanley Nwabali to successfully defend against every shot from Jose Peseiro’s team.

Following the Super Eagles’ victory over South Africa, Odukoya shared another video where he created a remix of Tyla’s song ‘Water,’ which had won the Best African Music Performance award over Davido, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy.

Odukoya advised Bafana Bafana to drink “Water” by Grammys after losing their breath during the match against Nigeria.

The game concluded with a 1-1 draw even after extra time, setting up the three-time champions to compete against either hosts Ivory Coast or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final on Sunday.

Stanley Nwabali emerged as the hero of the night by saving two penalty kicks.

Nigeria, aiming for their fourth AFCON final appearance, faced a tough challenge in the early stages of the match as South Africa dominated proceedings.

In a thrilling Africa Cup of Nations semi-final in Bouake, substitute Kelechi Iheanacho secured Nigeria’s victory with a goal, leading to a 4-2 penalty shootout win over South Africa on Wednesday.
