PDP chieftain, 200 others defect to APC in Delta

Prince Gabriel Nwanazia, one of the PDP’s top leaders in Delta State, has left the part with more than 200 other PDP members who left the party to join the APC.

According to Nwanazia who switched to the APC on Saturday in the state’s Aniocha North Local Government Area with his supporters, the PDP’s unresolved crises was a factor in the move.

He said, “I am a strong PDP mobiliser, a great supporter but today I decided to move my over two hundred supporters to APC.

“PDP does not keep agreement, I have worked for PDP over the years, I have delivered for PDP in all elections in Aniocha North.

“Today, no development in our area, some of the things here were done by APC. Crisis everywhere in the party”

The sole APC councillor in Delta State, Mr. Emmanuel Oweazim, revealed that Nwanazia was an issue for the party in the local government during previous elections when he presented the defectors to the party’s leadership.

“2023 is the end of PDP in Delta state, one of our problems during election period had joined APC today and a lot of persons are expected to join APC soon.

“Crisis has made PDP lose one of its henchmen and by the time Omo-Agege emerged 2023, I will no longer be the only councillor in the state”

The Aniocha North APC Chairman, Mr. Mathew Chinye, Adizue Elueaka, and party candidate for the House of Assembly, Mr. Bazim Boise, welcomed the defectors and stated that the PDP’s demise in Delta politics was signaled by youth organizer Nwanazia’s departure from the party.
