PDP release timetable for bye-elections, sets senate form at N3m

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued the timetable and schedule for the bye-elections scheduled for February 3, 2024.

Report state that the Independent National Electoral Commission has sanctioned a timetable for conducting bye-elections resulting from the resignation or demise of members of the National and State Houses of Assembly.

According to the PDP timetable, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, and released on Tuesday, the notice of primary election and congresses to the state chapter will commence on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

The sale of nominations, expression of interest, and delegates forms is set to begin on Thursday, December 28, 2023, and conclude on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

The primary election is scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2024, with appeals on the party primary slated for Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

The party pegs the price for the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly at N3.5m, N2.5m and N600,000 respectively.

The statement read, “Please note that female aspirants and persons living with disabilities are to pay for nomination forms only.”

“Youths (male/female) below 40 years are to purchase Expression of Interest forms, but with a 50% discount on nomination forms.

“Please, contact the Directorate of Organisation and Mobilisation at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja for further details on how to purchase the forms.”
