In a major setback for illicit drug trafficking, the Nigeria Customs Service, Niger-Kogi Command, has intercepted 283 wraps of cannabis sativa and transferred them to the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Minna.

The estimated duty-paid value of the seized cannabis sativa stands at a staggering ₦5,666,000.

Comptroller Pascal Chibuoke of the Niger-Kogi Command addressed the press regarding the command’s activities over the past four weeks, emphasizing the successful seizure of 283 wraps of cannabis sativa and the detention of nine vehicles with a total duty-paid value exceeding ₦170 million. Chibuoke commended his team for their resilience and dedication, assuring that the command would continue to reward officers who perform exceptionally in their duties.

Upon receiving the cannabis sativa on behalf of the NDLEA, Niger State Commander Shehu Gwadabawa expressed his appreciation for the inter-agency collaboration, highlighting the significance of collective efforts in the fight against illicit activities.
