The late governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has been laid to rest at his residence in Owo, within the Owo council area of the state.
Akeredolu, who passed away in Germany on December 26th of last year, was transported to his hometown for his final burial rites.
At the age of 67, his remains arrived in the state capital on Wednesday and were received by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and members of the executive council before being taken to his Owo residence.
Eminent Nigerians, including President Bola Tinubu, paid tribute to the late Governor Akeredolu.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, President Tinubu led a gathering of state governors, ministers, APC leaders, government officials, and other dignitaries at the funeral service held at Saint Andrews Cathedral Church in Imola, Owo, Ondo State.
