Kogi Central Senatorial District was lively on Monday as residents turned out in large numbers to welcome former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, who was accompanied by the current governor, Usman Ododo, as they arrived in the district to celebrate the New Year with their fellow citizens.
Women, men, old and young waved and sang in their local dialect to welcome the former governor, after he met his bail condition.
The triumphant entry of the former governor from Lokoja to Okene his country home, took him several hours before he could get to the palace of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland who was waiting with a multitude of people both men and women to receive him in the palace.
Addressing the people in his local dialect at the palace of the paramount ruler of Ebiraland in Okene, the former governor called on the people to always pray for their leaders to succeed in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He assured that the current administration led by Ododo will deliver more dividends of democracy to all parts of the state.
He called for unity among the diverse ethnic groups in the state to enable the current administration of Ododo to deliver the desired dividend of democracy to the people of the state.
He asked his people to shun all social vices and pray fervently for the administration of President Tinubu to succeed.
He also appealed for the support and prayers of Nigerians for Tinubu’s success in implementing his commendable plans and programs for the country, emphasizing that the current administration’s policies will undoubtedly propel the nation forward.
