[PHOTOS] NAFDAC destroys ₦1.3bn worth of fake, expired products in Abuja

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed counterfeit, expired, and substandard goods valued at ₦1.3bn in Abuja.

Professor Moji Adeyeye, NAFDAC’s Director General, who was represented by Festus Ukadike, led the agency’s officials to the Kuje dump site in Abuja, where the destruction took place.

The items destroyed included drugs, medical equipment, cosmetics, food products, and various other goods.

In addition, expired food items voluntarily surrendered by both local and international organizations, including the World Food Programme (WFP), were also destroyed.
