Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) members have commenced assembling nationwide for the planned two-day protests.

Information collected by our reporters revealed a significant deployment of security personnel in different states of the Federation, as demonstrators voiced their discontent over the prevailing nationwide challenges.

Reports state that the protest site in the Ikeja under the bridge area of Lagos State, observed that the Labour Congress was joined by several other unions, including the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), and others.

The unions are set to conduct the rally, commencing from the gathering point in Ikeja and proceeding to the State House of Assembly in Alausa.

Policemen were observed stationed at each major junction along the planned three-kilometer route, in line with the Force’s commitment to maintaining peace and order during the protests.

The rally follows a last-minute unsuccessful attempt by the Federal Government to prevent the NLC’s two-day warning strike and national protests against the economic challenges in the country.
