[PHOTOS] NLC protesters await Sanwo-Olu at gov’s office

The Nigeria Labour Congress protesting members have not been addressed by the Lagos State Government.

The NLC organized the demonstration in support of the tertiary institutions’ unions over the prolonged strike.

Lagos State Chairman of NLC, Mrs. Agnes Sessy, said, “We are waiting for Mr. Governor. This letter must be delivered today. We are waiting for him or his representative to collect our letter. We will wait.”

NLC members assembled at the Ikeja Under Bridge and peacefully marched to the office of the Lagos State Governor.

As of the time of report, no representative of the Lagos State administration has addressed the demonstrators when they arrived at the gate of the Lagos State House in Ikeja at 11.40am.

Participants in the protest included representatives from the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and Non-Academic Staff Union of Allied and Educational Institutions, Nigerian Union of Teachers, and other NLC affiliate unions.
