The African Democratic Congress has confirmed that former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, paid a visit to former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, to show support during his ongoing legal proceedings.
The party stated in a post on Tuesday, “HE Peter Obi visits Abubakar Malami SAN to express support over his recent experiences with the EFCC, DSS and subsequent court proceedings by the Federal High Court FCT.”

The specifics of the meeting, including its duration and discussions, have not been disclosed. Some reports indicate that the meeting took place in Abuja.
Malami is currently facing two separate cases, including allegations of terrorism financing and illegal firearms possession, as well as an N8.7 billion fraud and money laundering case.
The trial of the former Attorney-General resumed on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Prosecution witnesses, including compliance officers from Union Bank and Access Bank, provided testimony on transactions linked to accounts associated with Meethaq Hotels Ltd, Rayhaan Bustan, and other entities.
During proceedings, Malami and his wife were present in court, with their son joining shortly before the court paused for an hour. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik admitted several documents as exhibits, including bank account statements and letters, as the trial continued.
The case has been adjourned to April 20 for continuation.
