

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, along with his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, were honored guests at the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2023 Award Ceremony hosted by Her Majesty The Queen Camilla, at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.
Lagos State played a significant role in the success of this year’s competition, contributing to a record-breaking 34,924 entries—9,000 more than the previous year—from 50 Commonwealth countries, marking the highest participation in the competition’s history.
Addressing the audience, Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted the paramount importance of literacy and empowering young minds. He expressed gratitude to the Royal Commonwealth Society and Her Majesty for their acknowledgment, eagerly anticipating the celebration of the remarkable winners.
