Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters in Adamawa State resumed their protest on Tuesday against the declaration of Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani as the winner of the Adamawa governorship election.

Men, women, and youths marched to the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yola on Monday, urging the commission to respect the mandate of the people.

Today’s protest, however, was dominated by women carrying placards demanding that the supplementary election collation process be completed.

Their march to the state office of INEC was halted by security operatives comprised of the Nigerian Police as well as men of the Civil Defence Corps who barred them from gaining entry into the premises

The leader of the protesters, Mr Felix Tangwami, condemned the action of the suspended Commissioner Hudu saying the move was aimed at plunging the state into chaos.

Mr Tangwami also called on the court not to entertain the prayers of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Binani claiming it had no merit.
