President Bola Ahmed Tinubu attended the wedding fatiha of the sons and daughters of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, held at the National Mosque in Abuja.

The ceremony, which took place on Friday, saw the former Zamfara State governor give out ten of his children in marriage on the same day.

Among the minister’s children who were married are five sons and five daughters. Four of the daughters were married to grooms from Zamfara State, while one was married to a groom from Sokoto State.

President Tinubu served as the father of the brides (Waliyi) during the wedding fatiha, which was officiated by Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, a prominent Nigerian Islamic scholar.

Sheikh Bala Lau is also the National Chairman of the Jama’atu Izalatul Bidi’ah wa Ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) and has led Nigeria’s largest Salafi movement since December 2011, overseeing its preaching, educational, and charitable activities.

Also present at the event were the governors of Kano State, Yusuf Abba Kabir; Kebbi State, Nasir Idris; and Kaduna State, Uba Sani, alongside other dignitaries, including former governors.

The wedding ceremony attracted high-profile personalities such as serving and former ministers, lawmakers, diplomats, well-wishers, as well as family and friends from various walks of life.

The simultaneous wedding of ten children of the Minister of State for Defence was described as historic and one of the most notable such events in recent times in Nigeria.

Among those who married the minister’s daughters were a former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, and the Director-General of the National Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), Yazid Danfulani.

Special prayers were offered during the wedding fatiha, seeking God’s blessings and guidance for the newly wedded couples.
