The minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers State, held a meeting on Saturday in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Also present were Martin Amaewhule, speaker of the Rivers House of Assembly, and Ferdinand Alabraba, chairman of the Rivers State Elders Council.

The meeting took place just days after Governor Fubara officially resumed office following the lifting of the emergency rule earlier imposed on the state.

President Bola Tinubu had, on September 17, announced the end of the emergency rule declared on March 18, directing Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and members of the state House of Assembly to resume their official duties.

Upon his return to office, Fubara stated that the political crisis which led to his suspension had been resolved, adding that he had reconciled with his predecessor.
